Digital UCAT Masterclass Overview

7+ hours of video spread out into 58+ manageable videos. The UCAT Masterclass will give you a solid foundation for your UCAT preparation.

Verbal Reasoning

8+ videos

This section tests your ability to critically reason statements and how they relate to the passages given. The questions themselves aren’t necessarily difficult, but the strict time limit is what makes this the section with the lowest average mark.

On the Masterclass we’ll cover how to prepare for Verbal Reasoning, the question types you will face and strategies on how to answer them. We’ll also work through some practice questions so you can get a feel for how the strategies are applied.

Decision Making

16+ videos

In Decision Making, you will have to use a number of different techniques to answer the different types of questions, and it can be difficult to juggle all these different methods. More than in any other section, the question types in this section can vary a large amount.

We have carefully taken apart this section and created a set of techniques for each question type. Decision Making is one of the toughest sections of the UCAT but after going through the videos, you’ll feel much more comfortable approaching it.

Quantitative Reasoning

6+ videos

Although there’s nothing in this section beyond the level of GCSE Maths, we find that students often use inefficient methods and therefore waste valuable time.

The good news is that they ask the same types of questions over and over again. We’ll go through how to approach the section effectively and cover all of the knowledge required to do well in this section. We also working through some practice questions so you get a feel for the section.

Abstract Reasoning

13+ videos

Identifying patterns in pretty shapes is a welcome break from the stress of the previous two sections, and with a solid system in place, you can really raise your score here. Patterns can be painfully obvious, or ridiculously obscure and as usual, the objective is to beat the clock.

Abstract Reasoning is a love/hate section for many students. By the end of the videos on Abstract Reasoning, we intend to make you one of the students that enjoys and scores highly on it.

Situational Judgement

9+ videos

The Situational Judgement section of the UCAT doesn’t contribute to your overall UCAT score, but instead a raw score in this section will be expressed in one of four bands, with band 1 being the highest. Universities use the result of this section in different ways and even though it might seem like common sense, make sure you don’t underestimate its importance. SJTs are used all the time in medical selection, notably in applications for foundation programme jobs.

We’ll go through the correct approach for all SJT questions and how to work with a strategic framework that will help you become more confident in putting down an ethically robust answer.
