Mock Interviews

Get Essential Practice

Interviews, especially MMIs, can be very daunting for a number of reasons. You’re expected to sit in front of complete strangers and convince them in one way or another that you’re suitable to study Medicine with little or no indication as to how you’re doing.

With our MMI Crash Course, you will gain practice in meeting and talking to interviewers and each of you will receive detailed feedback on what you are doing well alongside constructive feedback on things that may need to be improved. This is to make sure you are among the best and most memorable candidates.

Detailed Feedback

Understand Your Strengths & Weaknesses

All advice given will be recorded in the 6med MMI Crash Course Booklet, which you can take home with you. Feedback received is broken down into specific criteria that relate to the topic attempted so you get a more in-depth look into the components of your answers. This means you will be able to pinpoint your stronger and weaker points across the wide variety of stations. General advice on the different components of each question/scenario is also provided, as well as bucket-loads (over 200 pages to be precise) of interview advice, information and general guidance.

Partner Up

Learn With Your Peers

For the duration of the course, you will be paired up with another student to give you the opportunity to learn from them too. It gives you a chance to see things through the eyes of an interviewer and a unique opportunity to observe different approaches to answering questions and tackling scenarios. You’ll be surprised how much you can learn from just watching someone. You will get two opportunities to go around the circuit with the questions and scenarios changing between and you and your partner. By the end of the course, you will both have attempted all stations and observed each other attempting the stations.

Begin the day with a brief introduction.

We’ll get started with the first half of our MMI stages: Ethics, Medical Probity, Data Interpretation, Patient/Person interaction and Experience & Motivation.

Now it’s time for a short break.

You will then go through the next stages: Current Topic Debate, Understanding Of Role, Breaking Bad News and Communication Skills.

We’ll now have a debrief and Q&A.

Course officially finishes.

MMI Course FAQs

Got some questions about the MMI Interview Crash Course? You might just find the answer here. If not, you can always reach out to us and we’ll be happy to help!

Glad you asked! We certainly think it is, though our opinion is probably slightly biased.

If you want a more impartial opinion, we can tell you that we give a feedback form to students at the end of each course, and from our years of teaching this course, every single student has answered ‘Yes’ to the question; ‘Would you be inclined to recommend the course to a friend?’ We’ve also got a tonne of reviews that you can read on our reviews page.

By all means, if money’s no object then do please attend whatever courses you feel will help you. However, if you’re looking for the best value-for-money option, then there’s really nothing that beats us. We’ll give you a whole day of teaching, provide everything you need to prepare for the interview, and in the end, hopefully help you get into a great university. No other company provides all that for the price that we’re offering.

You will be taught and interviewed by experienced MMI examiners (all medical students). They have first-hand experience of the interview, and have taught many students to follow in their impressive footsteps!

Our experienced MMI examiners write in-depth, personalised feedback to take home with you on what you did well and how you may be able to improve your interview performance.

We take great care to make sure our tutors are the best of the bunch. We’ve got an average tutor rating of 4.93/5 (with over 4,000 reviews!) so we think we do a pretty good job of this.

The course is held live on Zoom. You’ll be sent over a link and a companion guide so you can follow along with ease.

Our MMI Crash Course takes you through 9 realistic MMI scenarios, with detailed feedback from our team of interviewers and actors. The MMI circuit is run through twice, meaning you experience 18 different scenarios giving you valuable experience. The stations reflect the questions and scenarios you will be tested on during your real Medical School interviews. These are the 9 different stations:

  1. Ethics
  2. Medical Probity
  3. Data Interpretation
  4. Patient/Person interaction
  5. Experience & Motivation
  6. Current Topic Debate
  7. Understanding Of Role
  8. Breaking Bad News
  9. Communication Skills

When the mock MMI starts, at each station students get 1 minute to read the station blurbs, 5 minutes to attempt the station and then 3 minutes of detailed personalised feedback they can physically take away with them.
Students are interviewed by experienced examiners (all medical students) and receive written in-depth and personalised feedback on what they did well and how they may be able to improve their interview performance.

You will be given a 200-page workbook, containing all you need to know to master your MMI Interview. During the course itself, we will be referring constantly to this book and interactively going through it as a class. This book should become your best friend every day until Interview-day (after which you can burn it!).

The workbook covers topics including:

  1. Common Questions
  2. Medical Ethics
  3. The NHS
  4. Current Affairs
  5. Famous Diseases
  6. Inner and Outer Game

You’ll also get the course companion guide which will take you through the course on the day.
