Table of Contents
The table of contents is generally a pretty good indication as to the content of a book. We also continually update and add more questions every year. So here’s what last year’s workbook looked like.
Before anything else and teaching you the main strategies for tackling the UCAT, we want to give you the best advice on how to prepare on your own at home. This ‘Preparation’ chapter contains helpful tips on what you should be focusing on when preparing, making a study plan and general productivity. A solid game plan for your UCAT exam is something every test-taker should have.
Alongside knowing how to prepare effectively and having a strong strategy, much of exam success comes down to smart practice. Too many students fail to properly reflect upon their practice sessions and identify important areas to work on. You have to be your own coach when practising at home, and this means knowing what to look out for. This chapter will emphasise ways of maximising what you get out of every practice section.
Quantitative reasoning can either be a relatively simple section or an absolute nightmare depending on how confident you are with using basic maths. This chapter will go through every possible mathematical principle tested and ensure you have a good grasp before tackling the exam under timed conditions. We also include lots of tips and tricks on time-management and ways of speeding up your mental arithmetic. This chapter has included many worked solutions and practice questions covering all the question types.
Decision Making is a new section that may or may not be used by the UCAT consortium officially for 2017. DM was piloted in 2016 as a replacement for the previous Decision Analysis section. We are in the process now of finding and creating the best strategies for tackling this section in time for your exams this year!
