The 6med Interview Crash Course is an intensive, one-day medical interview preparation course run by medical students from some of the UK’s top universities. We’ve been running these courses for 5 years, and have taught over 5,000 students. Check out our Reviews page to see what some of them had to say.
Timings & Timetable
The course will start at 10am and finish around 5pm. We ask that students try to arrive by 9:45am, as we have a tonne of stuff to get through and can’t afford unnecessary delays.
10:00 – Introduction
10:15 – How to approach interviews and interview preparation
10:30 – How to answer common questions – (1) Motivation and expectation, (2) Work Experience, (3) Traits of a good doctor, (4) Strengths & Weaknesses, (5) Spare Time.
12:00 – Ethics Workshop
13:00 – Lunch Break
14:00 – The NHS
14:30 – 17:00 – One-to-one mock interviews + MMI scenarios + Oxbridge interviews
As you can see from the timetable above, we take a lunch break from 1-2pm. This is malleable, depending on how quickly/slowly we get through things, and sometimes we have to cut the break short to fit everything in.
Most students tend to bring money to get lunch from one of the nearby shops, although bringing a packed lunch is always an option.
Instructors & Class sizes
The maximum class size is 16 students. There will always be 2 or 3 instructors per class, all of whom are current medical students at some of the UK’s top universities (you can see our instructor profiles on the About page).
Every student gets a free copy of our 6med Interview Crash Course handbook – this is a 250-page A4-sized book containing lots of interview tips, questions with model answers, case studies and dossiers about topics you should know about. You can get an idea of what’s in the book by visiting the Course Materials page.
The 6med Promise
When you attend one of our courses, you become part of the 6med family. So if you have any questions, or need a hand with any aspect of your application, we’re just an email or phone call away. We’ve got a solid team of medical students from various universities, and between us, we can help with most enquiries.
We know the medicine application can be daunting, and we’re delighted that you’re considering allowing us to be a part of your journey to university.
Need more information?
If anything on this page is unclear, or if you’ve got any questions or queries, or even if you just fancy a friendly chat, you can always drop us an email at [email protected], and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can. Alternatively, you can give us a call (the number is on our contact page) – however, because we’re medical students (and some of us are now junior doctors), our schedules can be a little unpredictable, so please don’t feel offended if we can’t take your call!
