BMAT Crash Course – Register
Our courses run from July to November each year. We’d love to see you at one of them.
Refund Policy: If you change your mind about attending the course (or even taking the BMAT altogether), just let us know at least 14 days before the course and we’ll give you a full refund. If there’s less than 14 days to go before the course, we can transfer your registration to another student (if you know someone who’d like to take your place), but sadly we won’t be able to refund you.
The 6med BMAT Crash Course is an intensive, one-day BMAT preparation course run by Oxbridge medical students. We’ve been running these courses for 5 years, and have taught over 5,000 students. Check out our Reviews page to see what some of them had to say.
Please scroll down to the ‘Description’ pane to see more info about the course, including timetable and venue details. To register for the course, please click ‘Add to Cart’ and follow the registration instructions.
We hope to see you on the course! Or your child, depending on who’s reading this.
There will always be 2 or 3 instructors per class, all of whom are current medical students at Oxford or Cambridge (you can see our instructor profiles on the About Us page).
Every student gets a free copy of our BMAT Crash Course handbook – this is a 300-page A4-sized book containing lots of strategy tips, techniques and practice questions that we go over on the day. You can get an idea of what’s in the book by visiting the Course Materials page.
You’ll also get a unique code that upgrades your BMAT Ninja account, giving you access to the Training Temple component of the website. The Training Temple contains (1) all our technique and strategy notes for Section 1, (2) our revision notes for Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths for Section 2, and (3) our Section 3 guide, with 25+ example essays with full feedback.
And finally, you’ll get our instructors’ email addresses at the end of the course – you’ll be able to contact them if you need a hand with any aspect of your BMAT prep.
You just need something to write with and something to write on. You’ll be getting our BMAT Crash Course Handbook to take home with you, so you’ll probably want to do most of your note-taking on that directly.
There’s no need to bring a printout of your confirmation email or anything like that – we’ve got your name (and/or your parent/guardian’s name) on our electronic register, so as long as you remember the name, it’s all good
We usually have our lunch break between 1-2pm. Sometimes, depending on how quickly we get through the morning content, we have to cut it down to 30-45 minutes.
Given that all our venues are quite centrally located, there are usually lots of shops nearby where students can get lunch from. Alternatively, feel free to bring a packed lunch – up to you.
As an attendee of the BMAT Crash Course, you’ll get free access to the Training Temple of BMAT Ninja (www.bmat.ninja). This means you’ll have access to hundreds of pages of our online notes and resources for Sections 1, 2 and 3, along with 50+ example essays with comments to look through.
A few days after the course, we’ll send an email with an access code to upgrade your BMAT Ninja account.
If you’d like to get the email before the course (e.g.: if you’ve booked a course that’s quite late in the year and want to start preparing before then), please drop us an email and we’ll send a code over. If you need access to the notes urgently, it might be easier to just buy the Training Temple upgrade for £29 on BMAT Ninja – if you drop us an email, we can then refund that money back to your card.
The course will start at 10am and finish around 5:30pm. The rough timetable is as follows:
- 10:00 – Introduction
- 10:30 – Section 1 – Critical Thinking & Problem Solving
- 13:00 – Lunch Break
- 14:00 – Section 2 – Physics, Chemistry & Biology
- 16:45 – Section 3
- 17:30 – Course officially finishes. Time for Q&A with instructors.
BMAT Crash Course Online
We’ve got an online video version of the BMAT Crash Course, created by our founder Ali Abdaal (you should check out his YouTube channel for lots of medicine application tips). The BMAT Crash Course online is identical to our classroom courses, it’s just that you can digest it at your own pace.
